EM Industries Announces Name Change l Effective January 1, EM Industries will begin to conduct business under its new name, EMD Chemicals Inc. A spokesperson for the company said the changes were taking place “as part of a global branding strategy being implemented by their parent company, Merck KgaA, Darmstadt, Germany, to unify and strengthen its market presence worldwide.” In addition, its Afflair mica-based pigment product line will be changed to the Iriodin brand name. This change will allow EMD to operate at optimum efficiencies in the global market, according to the company.
